Read the freeze-frame data
These are leads, not confirmed causes.
| Recorded conditions | Diagnostic lead |
|---|---|
| Below 2,500 rpm and below 60% load | Investigate software. |
| Above 2,500 rpm and above 60% load | Investigate hardware: boost-control leaks or disconnected hoses. |
| Mixed conditions or either exact threshold | Bulletin specifies no branch. |
Check the software history
DME W08B10684UM06 or later already contains this correction, strengthening the hardware investigation.
Before authorizing parts
- Ask for the stored rpm/load, DME identifier and intake/intercooler/boost-control findings.
- Guided fault causes must be addressed before the software remedy. The historical procedure used PIWIS II 15.500 or newer.
- Do not recreate load conditions or reflash the vehicle yourself. Have a technician confirm the current procedure.
