2010 Lexus RX450h P0430: the B2S2 result that changes the repair
The name of P0430 does not select the replacement part. Lexus requires a specific downstream-sensor test before this repair applies.
Check the vehicle first.
- Vehicle
- 2010 RX450h, 2GR-FXE; L-SB-0005-15.
- Test state
- P0430 confirmed with Techstream; engine at normal operating temperature.
The two qualifying readings use OR, not AND
| Warm-engine result | Bulletin direction |
|---|---|
| O2 B2S2 voltage is 1.275 V | Qualifies for the specified bank-2 O2 sensor and harness-clamp repair. |
| O2 B2S2 impedance exceeds 300 ohms | Also qualifies, independently of the voltage criterion. |
| Neither condition occurs | This bulletin does not apply; use normal repair-manual diagnosis. |
Why some searches also mention 2011
The older L-SB-0127-11 Rev2 included 2010–2011 vehicles and production-VIN boundaries. L-SB-0005-15 explicitly supersedes it and lists 2010 only. That historical page explains the conflicting search result; it does not establish 2011 coverage under the replacement bulletin.
Ask for the actual scan result
Ask for the B2S2 voltage, impedance and test conditions. 'The oxygen sensor is bad' omits the finding that selects this repair. Use the table to discuss workshop results; do not probe a running hybrid or hot exhaust yourself.
If neither qualifying result is present, ask which repair-manual test supports the proposed next part. Do not turn the rejection of this particular sensor bulletin into proof that the catalyst must be replaced. The workshop should verify the outcome after the repair.
